What to know about this court
Some appearances are mandatory
The court requires appearance for defendants aged 16 to 17 with moving violations, anyone under 21 with an alcohol or drug offense, speeding 25 mph or more over the limit, and any case involving property damage or personal injury. A DWI with an accident falls squarely in that list.
Continuances must be e-filed 24 hours ahead
A continuance request must be e-filed at least 24 hours before your court date and must state the reason. The court’s published practice is that continuances are generally granted for 60 days upon entry of appearance — which is one practical reason to have counsel on file early.
Security
All persons are required to pass through a metal detector and are subject to search before entering the courtroom.

Whatever happens in Maryland Heights Municipal Court, the Missouri Department of Revenue is running a separate action against your driver’s license, and it does not wait for your criminal case.
